I have no idea whatsoever who they are.

But, apparently, the German media is well aware.

Just yesterday I read a very etching (term??) - sarcastic, evil-spirited -
report in www.spiegel.de about this idiotic, completely unimportant non-event.

The guy is a professional son, meaning: he works in dad's super business,
the father is a baker mogul with plants in every city. Imagine (for Americans),
if the son of Mr. Starbucks would be getting married.

This son is not known for anything real, he is not working in any important
business, he did not built great bridges as an architect, he is not a doctor
working in Africa or India, he did not invent anything (as far as we know),
he did not write any books, all he ever does is :
being the son of Herr Kamps, the owner of this bakery chain

Now, this girl is a non-important MTV (or Viva, or VH1, or whatever)
announcer. A fake celebrity. No talent of any kind detectable.

The article I read described the whole artificial spectacle in a very brutal
manner, the organizators will have been hitting walls in fury when reading
it. It was made into a TV-spectacle for welfare people who have nothing
going on in their lives.

You must understand that the economy in Germany is not like anywhere
else. Once you have lost your job and you have no connections (like your
brother, father or a close friend) to bribe you into a new job immediately,
that is it. You will not get another job, and especially when you are over 35
and/or unqualified.

So, the proletary is growing there, but since they get their rent paid by the
government plus utilities plus a certain amount per child every month, plus
an extra amount for groceries, there is no danger of any revolution soon.
These un-needed extra-people (which the economy does not need) are shut
up by a monthly income from the government and by certain private TV channels
who keep them occupied.

To understand the spectacle of this non-event, you must know the german
situation of welfare people first, that's why I mentioned that.

This wedding was put "on stage" for just that crowd, unemployed life-long
welfare people who have nothing else to do or to think about. To keep them
"busy", they are distracted by "events" like this.

The whole thing was a fake.
Well, no, they did get married, that is true.

But the whole thing around it was faked and just put up for the cameras.
For example a friend of the groom who is bavarian, but married an english
girl and lives in the UK. That friend is a known bavarian comedian, and he
was supposed to be the star guest. He arrove already some days before,
he was strolling through the town, but on the very day of the event the
production company rented a helicopter and had him flown in, pretending
he came from London right now.

All the guests were already in the hotel where the festivity was held.
Now they were going secretly to the back door of that hotel, stepping
into hired limousines, which drove them about 100 meters around the
corner to the front door of that verysame hotel they had been in 3 minutes
ago, and then they pretended to arrive for the "event", cameras rolling.

Real people were not welcome, they had casted extras who were handed
out posters and other merchandise of VH1-girl (whatever her name is), so
the camera pretended these are her fans cheering for her.

No, the real fans are welfare poeple, they were not suppposed to be seen
on camera. They were actually chased away by guards, once they came
to close to the groom's limousine.

Oh, the grooms limousine:
it was a fancy sportscar I cannot remember (since I don't care about cars
at all, don't even drive). It was a Maserati or Lamborghini or something fancy
like that, and of course they had extras and semi-celebrities posing with it.
Some real people were chased behind a certain line where they would not be
seen by the cameras.
And guess what:
this car was not even his own, it was rented just for that "event".

It was all fake, a big show for the privte TV channel "Pro Sieben",
who are keeping unemploeyed welfare people occupied. This way
they will not start thinking about their hopeless situation. That's all
there is to it.

I am from West Germany, I was 40 years old when I left it.
Since I am living in a country without news now (US-media
will only spread propaganda, no news, no journalism), I am
still reading german news everyday online.
Spiegel is a good source of serious journalism, I recommend
it to EVERY AMERICAN who is able to read german.
On their site I also found the article I just described.

WOW!
First, thank you very much for your detailed description of what this was about. No wonder, I could not find anything relevant about them.
It sounds vaguely a bit like "Paris Hilton". She is not known to have accomplished anything, yet is elevated to the level of "celebrity"... for what? No clue.
Now, having said that, is there a financial interest of Kamps-Jr in this TV station? Perhaps.

As you explain, the girl has no merit whatsoever other than being a "presenter/speaker" at a music channel.

I guess that is it. The magical Cinderella story. This girl out of no-where gets the heart of the wealthy prince.

:)

I am amused by the extent of "movie-making" tricks, such as guests re-arriving, etc. These are directly Hollywood techniques, of course.

Thank you for having cleared up this -otherwise- bizarre "news".

scary, what this all says about how wistful and unhappy the ordinary everyday people are.

I don't know. They actually seem to be very happy. As the saying goes:"ignorance is bliss"?
